The Cerberus

The Cerberus

A Poem by Sane Betwixt

Of three heads, but by one intent possessed,

The Cerberus, fruit of the loins of mother

Of monsters Echidna, whose rest

With the awful Typhon birthed countless other

Abominations, controls the third circle.

Torturing those poor souls whose sin

On earth was gluttony. The desire to fill

Up, above all else, doomed them within

This dreaded ring, to be mauled senseless for eternity

By the multi-headed beast of greed,

Cerberus, his insatiable appetite making mockery

Of the bloated souls upon which he feeds.

Wreathed in flame, with a mane of serpents,

He takes a puppies pleasure in the games

He plays with those he torments,

Delighting in their suffering and pain.
