Elegy for Pablo

Elegy for Pablo

A Poem by Sane Betwixt

Oh Pablo! Where art thou?

My dog of divine light?!

Do you confound the hounds of hell

With diabolical delight?

Fraught with true despair,

Kind many know too well.

The emptiness rings through

The soul as clearly as a bell.

Though once you howled above it all,

Dispelling every spleen,

I lived for fifteen years enchanted

By your golden dream.

But now you're gone I'm not forlorn,

For once I called you dearest friend,

Your memory's a testament,

To all things sweet, and sweetness end.
