my everlasting light

just my little musings...

sorrows and sadness,

pain and tears,

have followed me,

for all these years.

then along came a star,

shining through the darkness,

fighting back against my fears,

saving me for a year.

alas, that light is gone,

leaving me to myself,

staying just in reach,

but remaining what i cant touch.

its because of the light,

fading away to black,

that ive lost my sanity,

yet the light still brings it back.

every so often, 

i get a little touch,

the gentle glow of loves light,

enough to make me go hush.

even though my light remains gone,

i know it never left,

for all i need to do is ask,

and itll grace my heart again.

if not in love,

but in memories,

my light and me,

will always be.

it stays by my side,

even though it belongs to another,

it never lets me die,

it only makes me see.

that even though,

its long gone,

ill never be alone,

our hearts will sing one song.

I like it. Seems to be about a certain someone that came into your life who left a lasting mark. I think we can all relate to that. each bit touches briefly on every part of the ups and downs we feel after losing someone close. whether it be via a break up or someone passing away. then again this is just my perception.

Beautiful, a singular light emanating in a special person. They come into our lives usually not for very long, but they linger for a while driving us to madness but at the same time it's comforting knowing as your put 'our hearts will song one song' great job, I loved this
