Invisible GirlA Poem by SilentVersesWatching from afar his silence leads him to his demise.
I love her,
Though she cannot tell. She sees nothing but her own despair. Everyday she withers further. Her body a threadbare one, misused, disused and bleached with pain. Everyday I watch her, as bones rattle in despondent flesh. Everyday I cry for her. Slowly her light is diminished, taken by the ravenous hunger, that makes her compact. Folded like a garden chair, she sits, concave, all angles; all limbs. Everyday her cuts scare me with their depth. I wish I had the strength to show her I can be her tree, with my feet in the soil, and my head in the clouds. I will anchor her leaf-like loss. Storm comes, tearing roots from earth, all this time, my fear for this invisible girl. When it is me who needs an anchor. Stare, stare unresponsive, Obnoxious sirens. Blackness descends, covering paranoid fears. Did she ever exist at all? My sanity doubts it. © 2011 SilentVersesReviews
