Asleep

Asleep

A Poem by SilentVerses
"

From the depths of stagnation we still have slumbering beasts

"

I am tired,

and so is he.

I am tired, and for a moment I can’t tell

but then I realise,

…no I know.

It’s a she.

I am tired,

and they’re lying.

I know you don’t know,

but I do,

those lies are awful

if you aren’t careful

they will set your mouth on fire.

Blasphemous confidence: a liar,

heaped upon the floor.

Because when they hurt you

you just want more.

You know you crave it,

one more hit

pipe, blade, pill- s**t,

where’s that first aid kit.

Now the clock is ticking,

the beast’s tongue: clicking.

Just finish this dirty f*****g fling,

oh and please,

please hush darling.

Those moans,

those darkened twisted bones:

they don’t fit in the oven,

so we will have to throw you

on the stones.

I am tired, so tired

so lets get these stones to the fire

the bones: (will) take flames higher.

Burning bridges: take this blood and

forge a burning desire.

I am tired, and so are we,

a thousand and one voices

burning a chasm deep beneath.

She is he, is we from me.

So deep and hush, lets fall asleep.
