What does it mean?

What does it mean?

A Poem by Fin Buckley
"

The cold is here and you have nothing to kindle.

"

What does it mean when you look at me with those eyes?

Tall pines burning from the inside out,

Birds silently fleeing in every direction.

Every home in a permanent state of destruction.

You brought yourself to your knees

And yet you still look down on me.

All I did was close my mouth.

I built a dam and dried out your precious land.

And sure, it may have resulted in a drought,

But I didn’t light the match.

You did that all on your own.

Don’t act surprised when your flames suffocate

In the smoke, and when all is said and done

You’re left with nothing but bitter ash.

You should have waited till spring to burn it all down.
