Tragic place

Tragic place

A Poem by Fin Buckley
"

A feeling beyond this world.

"

I find myself

Lost in the wilderness

Under the light

Of a black moon.

My soft and slender fingers

Have been replaced with talons,

My skin an ebony so pure

I lose myself gazing upon it.

A vile urge runs through me

To cry out into the night,

A sad and lonely call

Meant for the creatures with no ears.

Rugged feet carry me

To an opening overflowing with white flowers,

Their petals floating up into the sky

And replacing the stars.

It is a beauty so frightening

That I forget that this world

Is a tragic place.

I find a strange peace in that.
