A distant memoryA Poem by Fin BuckleyI let it be carried away.A distant memory Is dragged out by the waves Of my mind. It washes ashore, Faded and without Its rose tint, A recollection of
childhood That is not so fond. Remembering it recalls a tidal wave Of forgotten thoughts; People tucked into The corners of my mind As if they were tucked
into bed. An amalgamation of places Joined together that
carries on For eternity. The horizon is a mixture
of sunsets And sunrises, The sky a perplexed color
Of purple and pink. These thoughts are soon
whisked away With the tide, And as fast as I had
remembered, I had forgotten. © 2017 Fin Buckley |
