Ocean's embrace

Ocean's embrace

A Poem by Fin Buckley
"

Though to me, maybe you are the ocean.

"

I look past you,

Off into the distance.

The stars are falling,

Each one dancing alone

Yet in content as they slip

Into the ocean’s embrace.

I can’t help but think back

To when we were young;

I was jealous of the fact that

The sea hugged more of you

Than I ever could.

Now, I realize,

The grip of such a figure

Is cold and overbearing,

And you like the warmth

Of my arms best.
