Salty depths

Salty depths

A Poem by Fin Buckley
"

The water welcomes me.

"

The calm ocean boils as my body touches its frigid sand.

I am an uninvited guest;

     A wary traveler

Who has stumbled upon

    An unwelcoming land.

Birds that cry

      Like children

     Fall from above;

Their bodies cooking in the salty depths,

Calls forever silenced.

The sea is appeased,

      Waves softening into a well missed memory

As I decide

To join those birds

       As well.
