Underwater

Underwater

A Poem by Fin Buckley
"

Neither one of us knew how to swim.

"

I saw her cry

     Today.

Even though

     There were only

       A few tears,

   It felt as though

     The entire room

Was underwater.

I tried to swim to her,

   But when she noticed

      My presence

   She smiled,

  And began to drown.

Whoa! You left me gasping at the end! Love the stepped form going down, down to the emotional depths. Very skillful!
