OctogreuA Poem by BryänThe journey begins on still nights beneath the moon Not ushered in by owl or wolf My house of generations, her emotions that night unwelcoming She, angel at sight, monster at heart My dwelling here, day and night are indivisible Fleeing from the creatures that kiss in cold mirrors Tearing through halls of endless shadow She, a labyrinth of inescapable terror Fragments of sanity cling to the rims of my mind Sunrise to sunset, running for unseen exits Nightmare deathless within the walls of the house This godless journey through the night never ending On the eve of my father's last The turned crucifix crashed to the floor And within the walls of House Octogreu The sun had set forever Bestowed upon me, she damned me Eternal life of cowering with her entombment Salvation now only a child of light, mind created The stare of her windows, frozen and grim, binds me At the front door, she's barred and sealed me away Ashes of her heirs, scattered all about the floor Her families, submerged in a ghostly lake down below Am I to join them for tranquility? Her curse never ending My line never escaping Since the sun had set forever Within the walls of House Octogreu
