Deadweight

Deadweight

A Poem by Justin Miller

My stomach knots
And I grit my teeth
To know that this weight I carry
Is a part of me
When I drag my feet
With this anchor in my hands
I am unforgiving
And forget who I am
Forever hold close
Your past and your present
But bury your burden
To remain free and weightless

This reminds me of a song by Mary Mary "Unshackle My Feet So I Can Dance". I really love the emotion behind your poem and the words of wisdom it conveys.
