Friends

Friends

A Poem by Paige O'Connor

The world is full of people,
Of many sorts and many kinds,
But everyone keeps moving,
And sure enough they find,

A certain person, a special someone,
And soon enough it's penned:
A new friendship is locked.
So what is a friend?

A friend is a person,
Who is honest and open,
A haven of realism,
Where only truths are spoken.

A friend is a person,
Who is always supportive,
A garden of belief,
T'were there is no shortage.

A friend is a person,
Who is reliable and devout,
A savior that steps in,
When the whole world steps out.

A friend is a person,
Who is sincere and thorough,
A root of one's joy,
And the end of one's sorrow.

A friend is a person,
Who will always wait,
Who listens and understands,
Who is never late.

A friend is a person,
Who will always share,
Who gives hugs and smiles,
Who always cares.

What is your friend?
