Step downA Poem by Fieora AndrosPraying for someone secretly, is the most immense form of love.
Seated on my table,
I heard a noise. Saw a pigeon on the lines of cable, trying to be perfectly poised. Trying, I said? Yes, it was sick. White large circles grown on it's head, All over it's wings were snicked. I had already got up, Trying to quench it's thirst, Gave it water in a cup. The protrusions seemed will get burst. To no avail! It didn't even drink a sip! It's face turned more pale, Gave it seeds but didn't take a nip. It was trying to deter, I tried but with failing. To make it feel better. But it, immovably sat on the railing. I thought it would eat, When nobody is around. Later, I thought it would complete, But it was in an absolute breakdown. I left it alone. Sneaked and checked it as it was prone. To the others of it's kind, Powerless it was, to even look behind. Night had fallen, I went to sleep, Prayed it hadn't fell, In it's sleep. When at morning I went to check, It was gone, It didn't even leave a fleck. And upon the railing the sun-rays dawned. It could have flown away, Could have fell down and died. Or a cat must have taken it away But, I prayed for it's good from deep inside. © 2020 Fieora AndrosAuthor's Note
