Broken heart

1:10 AM

I don't know what it is about you
that makes me want to rip out
my heart and ask it why it
beats twice as hard when you're around?
Why it's tearing me apart when
it should be giving me strength?
I don't know what it is about you that
makes me want to scream at the
top of my lungs until my vocal chords
are sore.
These past couple of days have became
a war,
a war in which there is no winner,
and there isn't a loser either.
This war is simply between two people
and gravity.
The world gravitated these two
people together in hopes of a mastermind
combination,
but instead made an atom bomb of
emotions set to only explode in the chest
of the person who cared most.
I don't know what it is about you...
but that place in my chest that once
beat twice as hard...
It's amongst everything else destroyed
by the bomb.
I guess that bomb chose me.
