From me to you

From me to you

A Poem by Richard Man
"

Advice to anyone thinking about falling in love

"

From me to you:

Advice to anyone thinking about falling in love.

You cannot think about it.

You cannot lay in bed alone and dream.

You cannot pad, wolf-like, down side-walks, hunting.

Or stir intricate patterns in your mid-morning latte

And plan it.

That’s pure fantasy.

Love is not out there like a pot-hole,

A cliff or a treasure chest to be wary of

Lest you  fall in or off or over it.

It isn’t supposed to be...

Either a lottery

Or your destiny. Love just is.

Get on with living that’s what love’s about.

When you’re ready to give,

Then,

In the blink of an eye,

During the micro-second between a lub and a dup.

There's a pause where there's no future tense.

And the now lasts longer than all of history.

Smile and

Quite simply and freely give.

Dive deeply with no pretense,

Naked of all deception, into each other’s pool,

And open the lock-gates that divide you.

Share the rush.

And get on with loving that’s what life’s about.

Nice and yes I agree, though when you have done nothing but given and been used and abused for it the idea of doing it again without at least some hesitation is rather absurd. Not looking for love and just getting on with things, though, is the best way to go, though, we can dream, and we can wish, and we can write about love .... at least from a safe distance. :) Nice write, deep and with a lot of meaning.

The poetry is awesome in it's definition of the beauty of giving, that's love! My compliments!

But...

Easier said than done when one has offered their core and been rejected! Too unsure and doubtful to bare my soul again. And the one I walk with now, just wont appreciate it and now I feel more in the comfort zone having a simple war of words!

Exactly. I am truly amazed you found a way to put that elusive moment into words. And it is just a microsecond, isn't it? One usually looks away or past that moment into the "what ifs." To be able to love freely in this moment really requires that both of you do not realize a moment has arrived. That is why I avoid looking straight in his eyes, avoid silence.

I love this poem.

Ding! Boom! Thank you so much.
tbh:
If you truly find all these of to be what love is NOT,
Then LOVELY is not the thought of being:
loved, love, loving.
Well, if your advice was of experience, thought, insight or
Cliff Notes, or other sheets to cheat
I''d say your a Mathematician that speaks of
Math's Uncertainties
True: we can find fault, things lacking, no correlation, or
coincidence.
Honestly, I am glad you remembered things change in an instant
With that you had me possibly or NOT?!.
Anyways, I was gonna say... Ha! I forgot,
say it is just mellowed over-thought :)

Not to say I agree to disagree
or am holding your words prisoner
But you had asked for a writer named Khloevhr
to review
And harming I may be to your well inked thoughts
to be your writing's Over-the-top analytical listener!
I am a messy pocket protector,
But If you want protection from my reviews
Lol. I am honored that you had "choosed" these
lil girl shoes!
Ha!

It was a Lovely Poem, Indeed
BTW: Khloevhr usually doesn't review in rhyme...

Khammuh Elle does...
(So far Khammuh Elle only writes in Rhyme to: One named Blanket as he so stated lol...His name is really "Icarus" )

I figured you waited too long for me to get to your work as you had requested :)

I had greatly appreciated that with unique imagery you had explained why you would like me to review your Poetry. Again, I am sorry for the great delay.

An Encylopedia of knowledge yet fitting on a single page!
Love is...
how you describe it sounds better!

truly this is a terrific piece of writing.... after reading the first verse, i knew it was going to be the absolute blinding truth staring you down... words of wisdom.. at the moment they traumatise with truth but in time i will absorb into their beauty... eloquent and profound. thank you for refining and sharing..

I read recently that "God comes to you disguised as your own life." I believe the same can be said of love.

indeed it could... and thank you for that thought this morning
Yes, Love just is, what a good poem, about explaining that.
I always have my slogan, Live your Life Like the Love Lives in You...
and than it can be given to others too.

Beautiful poetry, and analogy sir.
