My Platonic Lover

My Platonic Lover

A Poem by Fia Naturie
"

This was created when I was watching Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton interactions

"
I never planned on meeting you
but there you are
sitting with a smile and not a clue
A hello started it all off

One moment led to another.
We became so close
No one would ever discover
The beginning of my platonic lover

You had someone, and so do I
What we both feel we cannot deny
You could feel the energy
Between you and me
But we keep this all inside

Physically, we do not touch.
A caressed word ignites a fire between us
Maybe one day and not in a dream
My platonic lover and I will be more than we seem

This was an interesting read. I wonder how often physical attractions are preempted by mental and emotional connections. Madonna said we live in a "material world" and if that were so I'd say not very often. But I'm reminded of a song by blues great Bonnie Rait called "Let's Give Them Something to Talk About." And I think it's about the sort of thing in your poem. A good write and I enjoyed the read. F.

An interesting read...I've seen this happen in real life...when two people are attracted to each other, first perhaps physically and then emotionally; the attraction grows into more serious connections....and both are married....it's a conundrum for sure ....and what happens then? what does the future bring? that is left up to the reader's mind....
Lovely
Warmly, B

Nicely said, Fia. Attraction is the first step in the course of love and intimacy.
