E Major

E Major

A Poem by Fia Naturie

I place my fingers on top of the keys
To belt out a simple melody
Instead, the pounding sound resounds.
Coming from deep underground
I wanted it soft and light as I felt
The world wanted something harder.
As the cord was struck by a hammer’s belt
Movement after movement in memorized
Syncopation
Sweat and tears played for no standing
Ovation
When the last tones were dealt
Leaving raised skin
Welts
A decision was made
There will be one less pianist on the stage.

Powerful work. I can almost hear it.

Thank you, Thomas appreciate it,
I played piano at a couple of shows. The keys can be as expressive as the ones we use here. Though it does take time and effort to play properly. And repetition. :)
