Only Hope

Only Hope

A Poem by Poetic Tuesday
"

We talked for 1 hour, 49 minutes, and 13 seconds. And you know what? She made me smile. That was the first time I'd really smiled in weeks. <3

"
Smiles in the darkness tell the story
Of abandoned worries and newfound hope
And of tears and blood long washed away
By the echo of laughter and promises.

I don't care if I've never actually met her. She's my best friend and she's kept me alive. She makes me laugh and makes me feel like I'm worth something.

A feeling so surreal, like she's actually
There like there's no distance, no states
In-between, as though it were her hand in mine
Rather than the empty air that sings of solitude.

And I will be with her one day. One day soon. There's nothing you can do to stop me. Don't you dare tell me what to do; I promised I'd be there for her.

The I-love-you's and the You're-amazings
And of course, the I-wish-you-were-here's
All wind together to tell a story of what
It feels like to be so lost and alone, then
Open my eyes, and suddenly, there's someone
Like you who loves me.

And then,
I'm no longer   a l o n e .
