The Wind Changes.

The Wind Changes.

A Poem by guernsam

The space beneath my eyes,
hurts more than its before.
No more though then my shame,
for that's a heavy weight.

I saw the right movies,
and heard the right songs,
but it never made me ready,
for daggers at my throat.

The first part sounded easy,
smile and fake the truth.
It all came naturally,
'til our bonding broke.

I've never lied that well,
red lips always break me.
Whenever it faces me,
the truth will never hide.

Everyday since then,
my head's a bag of nails.
They stick into my brain,
and twist all that I feel.

Then it steals my dreams,
and I have no hiding place.
I live out every nightmare,
until I forget what's real.

So I walk into the fire,
and blow it into you.
All that seems to do,
is make you breath it in.

I've never felt so cold,
then when you waved at me.
You're smile was full of cheer,
that promised all I fear.

The wind blew my way,
and left me with a seed.
But flowers grow in soil
they'd only die with me.
