I, the Ocean of Mind, Drink All Creation's Waves

I, the Ocean of Mind, Drink All Creation's Waves

A Poem by Preston Manning Bernstein
"

The title is a line from an epic by the seer Samadhi. I used it as a starting point for this poem after reading a lot of D.H. Lawrence. Enjoy

"

Close your eyes, my love, let me make you blind.
They have taught you only to see the surface blemish,
So as to have you forget the fruit that is inside,
And have taught you God is an equation worth solving,
Whose glory hangs in heliocentric circles
Above, below, beyond, within, but never in hand.
So better for themselves.

I myself, in my father's gray sweater, would give all my
Meager accumulations of wit and skin for
One truth to make me dumb again.
And, if allowed, a chance to stay behind at the
Starting gates to be forever embarking anew.

Stop pressuring me! I love you because I loved you first.
Us together, with my yellow, and your blue,
Will keep our universe eternally green.
In the time you have spent drunk off of life
Entire worlds have collapsed in on themselves,
Never with the notion or wish of ever knowing you.
