We Came As Men

self-explanatory

"
we as men, should feel cheated
gagged and bound since birth
with extreme malice we're greeted
seen as the disease untreated 

born into a world of contradiction 
forced into manhood at age one
finding comfort in addiction 
the common north american affliction

emasculated by all women in life
they know not the harm
ours is a world of constant strife 
f**k dreams, who needs a wife

we are told, never show feeling
should it be mistaken for weakness
thus we let the s**t stack to the ceiling
lest our words become too revealing

giving and gaining no love
it doesn't hurt as much 
mutilating the mourning dove
in a hell undreamed o

This is so true. Sometimes it seems that we are forced into a Strong silent nice guy type mould. Any instinct towards the warrior, hunter and adventurer being slapped down. However, it is possible to escape the mould.
