That Day

That Day

A Poem by Valira Davenport

Happiness at its fullest;
memories created fast
Remembrance that will last;
there could be not the dullest

Then taken away in the blink of an eye
All because one guy told one single lie

The happiness turning to pure hate;
turning my life upside down quickly
A scream coming from deep inside;
that came from a place far within

It pierced the ear drums of all around;
this is truly my inner sound
My brain taken over by someone new;
I did not know what to do

Tears of my pure misery alive;
thrown upon the room
Seeing that sick b******s smile;
raising my inner dial

Creating a monster out of me;
remembering the truly happy times;
tears of pain continuing to fall...

After all is let out;
I've got no idea of what to do
I come back to my body for you;
I think of happiness

Then I look to the b*****d;
he ruined our amazing days
My brain overwhelmed by this;
I run away once more

My heart aching and sore;
you come out the house door
Wrap your arms around me;
then make me see truth

Tears still fall from my eyes hard;
you assure me he will pay
I feel a little better;
I'll just always remember this day...
