I miss the desertA Poem by Sodapop
I miss the desert.
I miss the desert where it didn't matter when you forgot the millennium because the desert didn't remember either And your footprints lost themselves in the sibilant utterances of the wind and I lost myself too When red rock turned yellow in the starlight When the cliffs turned blacker than the sky and I stopped looking for you and it was ok And I built my house at the lip of some canyon whose name I no longer remember I don't remember why I left But I gave my footprints to the hissing sand and then I lost the sand I miss the desert. © 2013 Sodapop |
