She visited me today brieflyA Poem by FeatherOwlI wrote it when I wanted to write so much, but couldn't collect the scattered words or thoughts, so wrote about just the muse who said, "write about me then." She hasn't quite visited since. She visited me today, I thought she had lost her way, And found me waiting by the bed, Waiting patiently.
She came and settled softly, Stirring my mind's chaos, Helping me reach out word by word Reaching helplessly.
She found my dwelling a dismal place, I said, "She should visit more often," "I come as I want," she replied Singing playfully.
I saw her move into dark shadows, I wish she left alone, She cried, "I seek my own space within," Seeking relentlessly.
I did not want to visit that realm, But she insisted to bare them all, I was left stripped of my self, Staring shamefully.
But I did not want her to leave just yet, Hold out a little longer, So, I could be lighter of this burden Bearing repeatedly.
She stayed a while, Then left me alone In the stillness of nocturnal sound, Humming effortlessly.
I found it a placid joy, A quiet calm to rest my head, Until she vists again, Sleeping peacefully © 2013 FeatherOwlAuthor's Note
