Welcome To The Fair

Welcome To The Fair

A Poem by Fearful.
"

I'm just full of fun and games.

"
Welcome to the fair!
Where my eyes are a fun-house.
Disfigured reflections cloud my vision.
Glass walls trick me for exits.
Where is my escape?
My head pounds with every run in to a trap.

W
elcome to the fair!

Where my mind twirls like a tea cup.
Excitement spins you.
Overwhelmingly making you sicken.
Thoughts can never wrap around feelings.
I'll take you on a ride,
full of confusion.

W
elcome to the fair!

Where my appearance deceives you.
My painted on smile covering my hideous frown.
Welcoming you, tricking you.
Drowning you in misconceived happiness.

W
elcome to the fair!

Where everything has a price.
Ridiculously ripping you off.
Taking more than giving.
Falsely advertising fun.

W
elcome to the fair!

Where decisions are made.
What will please your happiness?
Being trapped?
Spinning sick?
To be tempted?
Paying the price?

W
elcome to my fair!

Lose your worries, and twirl with me.
Open your mind to venture into mine.
As I seasonally come and go.
Always capable of attracting you.
Love my fair.
Where I can trick you into loving anything I want.
Me.

Author's Note

Fearful.
Sometimes, I feel evil. Rotten with my way of pulling everyone into temptation.
Sometimes, I can never escape this fair.
Can you?

I really love this one Korrin. I love the scheme in it, how you mixed your feelings with something as childish as a carnival. (That wasn't an insult! I really do like how you mixed something serious with something simple and childish!) It seems as though you are back and forth within the emotion portrayed in this piece. Overall it was really good, deep with emotion. The comparisons you used were excellent too! It painted a picture in my mind, and it made me think of the Opera by Puccini of the sad clown when you mentioned the line about fake smiles. Very good Korrin, keep it up!
