The Son Also Rises

The Son Also Rises

A Poem by The White Raven
"

He is risen.

"

I wait, and I stay waiting
for light o'er the horizon,
to rise, to climb, un-abating;
a dawn worthy of the Lion.

But, the night remains;
black shroud, Evil won,
and here the darkness reigns,
until, at last, the Morning comes.

clear contrast ... our dichotomy of natures continually at war with one another .. manifests, me thinks, in all the world of man ...i appreciate your protagonist and the longing in V1 .. and the reference to the Lion of Judah ... an abiding, faithful strength outside our own ... V2 ..i like its human admissions .. weak .. failing miserably ... so in need of a true, trustworthy answer .. and Morning comes .. i see its capitalized .. elevating the metaphor above a simple morning ;) short, precise, clear theme .. nice use of contrasts and i like the rhyming .. not forced or stretched .. nice work says i!

I'm sure your write is spiritual in nature, but I relate on another level. Waiting for the morning light....the night can be so long and it seems as though it will never end. Then suddenly the sun breaks through and all is well. Good rhyming in this one. Lydi**

Thank you, Lydia. As they say, the night is always darkest before the dawn.
