Digital Existence

Digital Existence

A Poem by Adam Stier
"

Look around. Heads down, staring at screens. Silent passing.

"
Life is very common place
Reach for the veil of mystic line
The Generation moving forward
Yet still falling faster behind

Everywhere I see heads hung low
Moving without looking and
Speaking without vocals
I sigh and wonder if it's worth the trouble.

Blind to nature's miraculous gift
They curse it with electric glow
All they touch and all they see
Is nothing more than digital memory

Heaven breathes a heavy sigh
The trees move on the planet
The grass dances across the fields
The beasts and fish play their roles
Organisms come and go.

Wondrous sights all about!
Look here, look there you see?
Open your eyes! Open your mind!
Nature is still a mys-ter-y!

Still the Generation seeks
Instant gratification and tweets

Nature holds no allure
Soon she'll be gone, world in ruin.

Someday you and I will have secret language
They will never know our codes we pass
All we need to do is write in cursive.

About
Nor much, really. I live in Portland Oregon, I work a dull job. However, I love to write! Well, everything except bio pages. I find it rather off-putting to write about myself. I so seldom pay attenti.. more..
