Sweetheart

It's been too long since I written anything.

The winter burns my insides with feelings of dying

Like a ghost inside keeping me from trying
To cut the ties to keep a peace of mind
I strive to carry on but I've been blind for too long

Maybe I'm just too slow healing my wounds
Feeling down for too long so close to fainting
Keeping time with the moon but it's gone too soon
Staying up for days so my life won't begin abstaining

Waited too long for you and I'm sick of waiting

Hoped to take your love but you keep me enthralled
I shut my eyes to true darkness abating
I gave you my life but you didn't care at all

There was nothing left to gain except your love
I finally accept that I felt nothing at all

Its been a long time for me too, don't feel bad. I'm going on almost four years of not writing, and I can't believe it, so I jumped on here again to start up. I like the flow of the poem, it goes decent with the picture your words produce in my mind. Sure you may be rusty now, but keep it up and I'm sure everything will come back to you!
