Never.A Poem by Fay SlimmNever. My dearest faraway lover, forget me not, but do as I and pepper the parting with spiced-up memories sweet with stolen time. Re-call those late morning smiles we two shared after excitingly hot fore-playing nights or the ticklish grins we always had when we lathered our skin, and the leaky over-small bath we couldn't fit in, remember how we tried lying sideways all bubble-wrapped ? Re-live laughs we had with my one-finger piano playing of musicals for which we wrote meaningless words then tunelessly sang them alarmingly loud in disharmony. Remember the unseasonal and inclement weather whenever we took our walk, the fun of us helter-skeltering to seek some shelter, the old woodland trees witnessed many an act of quick-strip afterwards when wet warmed again a dual desire as damp skin fired dry-leaf in that month of strange bedding under a nom-de-plume in secretive hide-away rooms. Playfully carefree that special us-time has left behind indelible days which reduce the miles. Love was made then sun-scorchingly hot no two were closer, so forget me not lover, for I never will you © 2022 Fay Slimm |
