and not as lust's transient notes.
Be as the forever of strong
affection and not for mere moments.

 

Be like faith without limit
and not as doubt's breakable bond.
Be to me true as infinity
for heaven applauds sincere resolve.

 

Be alive to ageless passion  
and not just in first blush of youth.
Be to my need ever steadfast
as such keeps alight love's real beauty.

Your lines Fay remind me of the tales I used to read of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. When Knights were romantic, faithful and true, as well as being brave warriors. These beautifully penned lines belong to that time and yet I feel sure that most women would like to be cherished and loved in this way today. I would say dream on. Your style is very much how poetry was introduced to me in my early years. Your poetic expression is divine and this is an admirable piece of art.
