Thirst.

Thirst.

A Poem by Fay Slimm

Thirst.

Oceans of sheer care-starvation promote
hunger's race
toward the non-negotiable state
of turbulent action
so doused in wait thirst builds on hope.

The force in that very first trickle of love
moves pebbles
of potent emotion, churns up
beds of raw possibility
that produce a deluge of readiest proof.
