Twice Stirred.

 

Suspended at doors of rigid, well-defined
thought ineptly hangs Whimsey, 
which poets unlatch to employ Muse-flight 
in releasing imprisoned minds.

 

Scribes like to delight in beguiling imagery
not caring where reality ends 
and fancy begins as wonder sews gossamer 
alongside truth, awe takes music 
as canvas and paints make-believe dreams
from its surges of beauty, 
pen catches sunset in assonance and invests 
raindrops with sparkling gems.

Writers see colour in extra dimensions that 
sings of excitement for romantics
who cling to the ethereal give idealized zeal 
from their lateral view with 
passion's inventions which win reader-fame
so Utopia being twice stirred 
seems authentic and Eden itself no illusion.

the beauty of poetry expressed so well here in all dimensions...the visuals, the beat, the risks that poets take as once so aptly expressed by Lawrence Ferlinghetti..we do see the extra color others might not think even exists...
for us Eden is very real.
as a fellow poet i really appreciate this and the title especially although 007 would not like the title since he likes his, not stirred.

There's an incredible cornucopia of visions and thoughts gone into the shape of those lines! Envy doesn't rise often - to each his or her own ability is my motto.. but how you've shown the creation of language via poetry is truly wonderful. You've expressed how so many feel but are unable to put to the page. Perhaps it comes from that magical source along the coast from here?!
