Coming Home

Coming Home

A Poem by FavouriteKitten
"

Finding home within myself.

"
The body is like Mary Poppin's medicine bag,
it has everything we can want, need, and desire within.
Love, family, safety and protection.
All oozing out of us and all we need to do is tap in.
It's the galaxy, our soul connected with spirit.
And when we come home to this, we are truly home
and we stop yearning for things external to us to help us feel
safe, wanted and loved.
It was always there.
But can we trust it?
Because if it was always there,
why is it now ready to care for us,
when it wasn't caring for us before?
When did the nightmare end?
What do you mean I can take care of myself and protect myself?
When did it become safe just because I say it is.
It doesn't matter when.
Because it is now.
Safe.
I trust myself.
I believe in myself.
I am here now. Grounded. Home.
I am home within myself.
A cup of roasted green tea
chunky socks
loosely fitted silk, embroidered blouse
hair undone
tears stained down my face
deep breaths.
When I live in my heart, I will always be home.
Tap tap tapping away on my macbook
so that I can shine shine shine
for my very last time.

Reading this, I can sense the feelings your portraying. It's a very...warm, comforting feeling. It makes me want to submerge myself in a warm bath, if that makes a bit of sense. Your words feel very encompassing and the voice you've written in seems as though it's akin to a pep talk or a quiet, but dignified whisper.
