If You Are Reading ThisA Poem by Dylan EvansNot so much a poem, more a rambling of a sortIf you're reading this then you are alive Free to survive Surrounded by things with little meaning only a deceiving reason
Constrained by the fabrics which bind your form You ask yourself “when will a new day dawn” When will being alive turn into living?
The bustle of people The corruption so feeble The rotten functions Things we are to endure until we realize that this is it
This is the living. One we do not seek, nor do we ask for Why can't we change it?
Who says you can't? If you believe yourself to want to live Truly live Who's stopping you?
Yourself? Others? Mind? Body? Soul?
I say no. No to the fuckers who constrain minds which wish to seek the world No to your body which aches in agony at the atrocious avenues life may bring No to the mind who says it's pointless
But yes to the soul which yearns for more More excitement More to see More to do More to think and feel
If you are reading this you are alive So stop reading this and start living! © 2012 Dylan Evans |
