Moonlight

A special poem for a very special woman.

Here I stand,
At the edges of lifes ocean.
Staring up into the sky,
At the moon and it's light.

Here I stand,
Cold air blowing against my face.
I look down from the heavens,
Away from the light.

Here I stand,
I begin to walk away,
But a cry stops me.
You approach from behind me,
the moonlight glissening off your eyes

Here I stand,
I turn to look you in the eye,
as you step up and grip my arm.
I stop and turn to you,
Beneath the moon in the sky.

Here we stand,
Gazing deeply into each others eyes.
A smile grows on our faces.
We move closer and closer,
Till we kiss under the moonlight.

I absolutely love this!
I admire your form of poetry - it's very detailed and sensual. I also favor the way you choose not to rhyme, making it seem more personal and surreal.

Also, I liked how you started each idea with a "Here I stand", but once accompanied by the girl you add a "Here we stand". It's all very romantic and well thought out.

I shall definitely check out more of your work.
