Curtain call

Curtain call

A Poem by Fate
"

its about that time...

"

curtain call

There’s a screen in my mind
That plays nightmares all the time
Of you and her, hand in hand
Doing things that we had planned
As I lay in bed wishing
I felt nothing at all
Missing you more each moment
Waiting for your call
Only for you to tell me all about her
Sitting in agony, not saying a word
But these days your voice
Is all that rings clear
Even if you’re saying all the things
I don’t care to hear

Such a fool of me to say
That when you speak her name
Or any other girl but me
It plays upon my screen
I thought you had understood
For a while you had restrained
But there you go again
I guess it was my mistake
For I must be taking too long
How could I ask you to wait
As I hang on for a curtain call
To not feel anything at all
If life could only be so sweet
To have you read my eulogy
