THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD

THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD

A Poem by Fast Eddie

                           THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD

I CAN STILL SEE HER PLAYING OUT IN THE BACKYARD,

AND STILL REMEMBER HER VERY FIRST BIRTHDAY CARD-

AND JUST SITTIN' ON THE COUCH WITH HER DEAR OLD DAD,

OH BUT I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER

                           THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD..

                                     THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD,

LIKE WALKING HER DOWN THE AISLE-

                                     THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD,

I SAVED A BOOK OF ALL HER SMILES-

                                     OH BUT I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER

               THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD,

I MISS THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD..

I STILL SEE HER ON THE BLEACHERS AT THE BASEBALL GAME,

BUT NOW SHE'S IN EXTRA INNINGS AND THINGS AIN'T QUITE THE SAME-

WE HELD ONTO THE GOOD TIMES AND LET GO OF THE BAD,

OH BUT I'LL ALWAYS REMEMBER

                           THE TIMES WE NEVER HAD..
