Raceland Rambler's Rag (Bakken Shale Boom!)

Again the many trees swoon in Jack Frost's arms,
Despite Adena Village and Lac-Megantic alarms.

Just one hundred feet from where students meet,
Raceland schools on both sides of the iron street.

Beside the rusted car shops, such silent eerie calm.
Frozen fire, tickin time bomb, phone call for Mom.

Blast zone of a quarter mile will kill evry last child.
Waiting for massacre where small bodies are piled

Just dance the Racelan' Rambler's Rag, worry not!
A thousand oil-tanker cars across the parking lot,

No need to make room for the Bakken Shale Boom!
Just go to class, forget about that explosive doom.

The snow falls gently on long lines in the rail-yard,
K through 12 all congregate on the old boulevard.

Beside, Dakota gold flows into big profits n' checks
How many tiny coffins'll they buy, oil train exec's?

School District, in Greenup County, Kentucky, U.S.A.

Author's Note

FarisGreybear
A warning cry, a plea for action, a prayer for our entire community's children, who all attend classes within a thousand feet, of one of the largest single storage rail yards for highly explosive Bakken Shale Oil in all of North America!
