claptrap

here is a speech for buncombe, pure bunkum
so let swing the truncheon in the dungeon
muffle the screams, sell the unaffordable dreams
smoke and mirrors, shameless claptrap, more humdrum

delusional democracy, divert, deflect, deny, and deceive
so let flow the corporate free speech, right to believe
fascism supreme, beyond Mussolini's wildest dreams
partisan politicians begging on bended knees to receive

fiddle and philander, jingle, riddle, and pander
saved by the map, votes shaved by the gerrymander
dig deeper in debt, more bankster theft of dreams
military purse strings, with total lack of candor

yet another speech for buncombe, more bunkum
still swingin' the truncheon down in the dungeon
squeezin ever more profits from the poor, for sure
stokin' more fear, more clap-trap here, same ol' humdrum
