Beech Fork Bridge

1. North of Mordecai Lincoln's and south of Chaplin, up Nelson.

2. Mossy abutments of stone, east of Mooresville, east of Maud
3. Underneath spraypaint, carved up with ordinary and odd.
4. Yet still, spanning that Salt River Fork, hope it never falls in.

5. There beside, the humpbacked concrete sucessor for modernity.
6. Truth be told, it'll be replaced 'fore the covered one will.
7. Wood and stone champion over lime, sand, and steel bone.
8. Everytime seen, marveled at for moments of eternity.

9. Finished nine years after Shiloh, nine poles, shore to shore.
10. Burr arches of timbers balanced on that center stone pier.
11. Now it's just a vandal's nest beside four fifty eight.
12. Log jam dressed around, and desecrated, yet I still adore.

13. Resilience comes to mind, Worshinton Coun'y, like we say,
14. Farmin and horses still abound, even huntin and fishin still aroun.
15. Perhaps the land that time forgot will be preserved by neglect.
16. All that history, flowin under the bridge, standing to this day.
