A Poem by FarisGreybear
"

4/11/14, Greenup Co., KY

"

A. it began in the sunshine, the warmth was mine, on fire
B. skin reddened, sweated till the skin went dry, pure desire

C. all alone, running down the cornrows, together we ran
D. Murphy's Creek marathon in the Rolling Fork land

E. saw it first in the snake sheds along the rock ledge
F. felt it in my soul, like a hot coal, standing at the edge

G. looking down upon the endless tracts in complete awe
H. marveling at the creation, in love, I can't lift my jaw

I. soon corralled by drywall and shingle, time to mingle
J. recording on brown ribbons, with horn and bells to jingle

K. soon returned, completely burned, enya still plays
L. even later, tickets for US Air, changed my naive ways

M. and encircled in serums, intoxicating deliriums, to suffer
N. unable yet still to reconcile the vile acts of humans, no buffer

O. ever the lover, then to discover, the only one to recover
P. and so alone, in that field of stone, there will never be another

Q. again in the sunshine, the warmth is mine, my fire
R. reddened skin's browned, and I made you smile, desire

S. to live, to love, just a little longer, till the torture took hold
T. I dug in Bell Hollow creek, and I found a sun of gold
