Omer

Between Putnam's Orchard at Penick, and Bradford's Mill at Turkey Pen
Beside the Jesus Beech, at the forks of Wheeler's Branch, it did begin
Thirty five readings of scripture, and on the thirty sixth of the word
Tales beyond fiction, logic so bizarre, bordering completely absurd

Got rude and chased the dude, courthouse trooper three raced with mace
Soon saved at the hospital door, no need for haste, no chase
And then at the stump, I taunted, "I'll win" with a poop-eatin grin
Land grants and treelaps, the land lost, survey's right, and I did win

Now the high voltage still soars above the J.P. Reed two seventy five
Across to the J.H. Tucker grant, and that ain't no shuck and jive
Many tried to stop us, ribbons pulled everytime, still I walked the line
Plat's in the cabinet, deeds in the books, justice is yours and mine
