Passing train of thought, sixty six feet, the chain, I've wrought
Forged tediously, much blood, sweat, and toil
Sundry Loops and a Hundred Links, stretched over soil

Passing train of thought, Heartland Corridor, intermodal bought
Double-stacked at Norfolk, black engines lead
White stripes stream below the bucking steed

Redbuds on the north bank of the Ohio, Redbuds on the south,
The chains that swum across the waters, freedom won

Passing train of thought, busy forgetting all the lies I was taught
Trained obediently, much readin', writin', and 'rithmetics
Neglect and abuse, instruction of no use, parochial catholics

Passing train of thought, deserts braved, american dreams sought
Crossing the Tohono O'odham, cactus and tumbleweed
Illegal and undocumented, labels of hatred and greed

Sunshine on the North side of the fence, sunshine on the south
The hearts that love across the wires, freedom won
