thence with the fence

thence with the fence

Thereupon three legs again, plumb bob string slowly untwists.
Imaginary line, I must find, plunderous search for more treasure.
Enveloped by dividing ridge, the hardwoods exhale their mists.
Then to discover fenceline, at last something to precisely measure.

CHORUS: Annihilate the inheritance, there's profits to create!
Wild ecosystem, time to make way for human residents!
Civilized progress needs more sacred soil to desecrate.
Sixteen and a half feet at a time, thence with the fence...

One chain wide and ten deep, acre after acre, more for the taker
Fantasy of geometry stretched upon the slopes, madness of ownership
No hand in its full creation, the yet unspoiled works of the maker,
All life enslaved to deeds, dollars, and endless dictatorship.

Observe signs of possession, then find and kill the prior claimants.
And now its all yours, write yourself a title and record it in a book.
The masters create new colonies, parading in the finest raiments.
Never was it borrowed, nor purchased, with lethal force it was took.
