"Suffer in Silence, and Shuffle to the Grave..."A Poem by FarisGreybear7-24-2014, US Rt. 52, Lawrence County, Ohio, USA
1. conform to the norm, you must consume and behave.
2. just keep up with the Jones', buy 'fore anyone owns it. 3. Accept indebtedness for your dignity... 4. and yet more security with far less liberty 5. So conform to the norm, consume and behave! CHO: Just suffer in silence and shuffle to the grave... 6. Buy now and spend all that you have, don't try to save! 7. profits perpetually privatized and pollution costs externalized. 8. such are the true economics of "trickle-down", 9. which poison-flavors our water, and turns our air brown. 10. So use it now, pay for it later, there's no need to save! CHO: Just suffer in silence and shuffle to the grave... 11. What's now a nation under surveillance was the home of the brave. 12. The "land of the free" is now the most unequal territory, 13. And the financial inequality worsens incessantly. 14. Obedience is obligatory, no personal privacy just national secrecy. 15. Once proud people distracted in debt, the homeless no longer brave. CHO: Just suffer in silence and shuffle to the grave... 16. Shackled no more in slavery, the national razor trims a shave. 17. To dream of justice and to pine for equality, free from debt... 18. Yet still to dream of priceless things, and a cost soon to forget. 19. My soul swells, my heart beats, and my voice rings out! 20. Oh to not suffer in silence, but scream and fight til the grave! © 2015 FarisGreybear |
