Not AdieuA Poem by Ashraf FaridFarewell poem for a dear friend. Not Adieu
Met thee once, taking as bunce, not, not at all; Thou then started, perilous journey shuddering us all. Rearing rare glaring rhythm thou cheer’d all Tearing age-ribbon, gearing amity, have become a pal.
Thy luminous humour, numinous face, making us friend, Did the deeds, beat the bits, hit the sorrow’s hand. Flourish latent possibilities, being surpassed, Stimulate stamina, stipulate stability staying steadfast.
We could control pathetic pathos, not undone, As we believe in befitting theory by John Donne. John Donne says, a true friend like a compass-hand, Always circles being loyal centring his friend. © 2015 Ashraf Farid |
