USED TISSUES

USED TISSUES

A Poem by Ria Sheikh

I’ve seen tokens of memories.

Teddies saying, ‘I love you’,

Dried flowers in books,

Broken bangles in jars,

Wrappers of chocolates,

Touch of hands...

On hands.

Sensation of hair being ruffled.

Laughters.

Intimate moments.

I’ve seen people having these treasures from their lovers.

But all I’ve got are,

Your used tissues.

People don’t leave,

You know??

Not just like that.

Not without any tokens.

Not without any Goodbyes.
