Midnight Memories

To the seashore in the midnight

but the ocean's raging in me inside.

moon is reflecting on the seaside

and you're with him on the other side.

I can see those stars

which you named after us

yours twinkiling by my side

i wish you were here to see.

All of our memories were fading

i put em in the bottle, now they're sailing

i hope at least once it will reach you

so you can know that i wanna feel you, right by my side.

i can smell the fragrance of yours

when the wind touches my skin

Can Stand by the shore?

and let the waves touch your feet.

I shed my tears in the ocean

they're glistening and swimming with the motion

like a firefly, if you see them

they'll show how much i love you, if you feel them.

listen to your heart and see

The way our skylines meet

every route you will take will lead

Beneath these stars with me.

This is a very beautiful & gracefully-written poem. I love the way you use lots of imagery from nature that appeals to all the senses. Even tho this is a poem with heartfelt longing, I also get the sense that this narrator is healed from this parting & these are memories from quite a while ago. It’s the kind of comfortable longing we end up living with forevermore (((HUGS))) fondly, Margie
